20th Century Pop Artists

This is a 7 week medium term plan based on the theme of ‘Pop Art’. The children will investigate a number of Pop Artists from the 20th Century: Andy Warhol, James Rosenquist, Patrick Caulfield, Jim Dine, Keith Haring and Sir Peter Thomas Blake. Each lesson explores artwork by a different artist. The children are given the opportunity to recreate art in the style of this artist. The unit allows the children to experiment with different mediums such as line drawings, painting, oil pastel work and collage (all of which are adaptable to suit the needs of the class and year group). The 20th Century Pop Artists Power Point is available for FREE in the Resource Shop.

Each lesson includes: The Learning Objectives, Vocabulary, Task: Starter, Main Activity, End, Additional activities where appropriate, Resource list and a photograph showing examples of some ‘real life’ outcomes made by children following this planning.
